Custom Research

Over the years, we have successfully provided many clients with customised market research which has enabled better decision making and ultimately helped them to succeed in today's fiercely competitive global markets.

These custom research projects can take many different forms depending on the complexity of the project and the objectives of the client. They can vary in size from a few days work costing just a few thousand dollars, up to major projects that may take a team of analysts many months to complete and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

 

 

A few examples of the type of work we have previously undertaken are provided below (listed roughly in order of complexity):    

Syndicated report add-on: A client may wish to extend the scope of an existing syndicated study to obtain some custom data available only to themselves.

Market Due Diligence: Clients involved in M&A activity often need to conduct market due diligence on their acquisition target. This could involve interviewing the target's customer base, assessing or verifying their market share, verifying market sizes/growth rates, etc.

Custom Research: Custom research projects vary tremendously in terms of scope, content and cost. Some examples are provided here


Consultancy: We also provide a full range of higher level marketing consultancy services as part of our Marketing Strategy & Planning services. Two specific services that we offer are:

Custom Research Process:

Whichever type of custom research project we undertake, the process is broadly similar:

Client brief: Normally clients will prepare a brief to inform us of their aims/objectives, scope, cost/timescale targets, etc. Where clients are struggling to produce a brief we are happy to help with this process and often a project will start with a free consultation between ourselves and the client.    

InMedica proposal / quotation: Once we have received and clarified the brief, we will produce a proposal document which outlines the specific work that we propose to carry out to meet our client's objectives. Sometimes a number of options will be provided which may vary in terms of the end result and the cost. The prices quoted are fixed and provided the client does not change its aims, this price will not change, even if the research turns out to be more difficult than envisaged.

Perform research: Once the proposal has been agreed, we will conduct the research process outlined in the proposal document. If the project is a long one, then regular email updates are sent to the client informing them of progress and any difficulties encountered (typically every week or two weeks).  

Delivery/presentation: The format for report delivery varies depending on the project complexity but typically uses Excel and PowerPoint files. Before delivering the final report, we usually make a top-line presentation of the key findings to the client. This is done in person where logistics allow, or via conference call/teleconference where client location makes this difficult.  

Follow-up: After a project is completed, we follow up with the client to ensure they are satisfied with the results and see if further work needs to be conducted.
